The farm-raised red wine braised rabbit, served with mashed potatoes and braised red cabbage with apples, red onions, and brown sugar, rounds out the more adventurous side of the menu, alongside Icelandic cod fillets dipped in their own Feather Bowler’s Belgian Ale beer batter and deep-fried to a golden brown, served with pommes frites and coleslaw.
The beer list features more than three dozen beers from Belgium, with over 40 more from elsewhere around the world. Atmosphere & Décor
The cafe sports a vintage beer garden vibe: a close-quartered communal space framed with Old World and industrial Detroit-era photography of former Tour de France cyclists, Belgian street scenes, Great Lakes industry, and iconic Detroit architecture. Every corner tells a story, and the walls are dense with history — this isn’t a manufactured aesthetic, it’s the real thing, accumulated over nearly a century.
The main bar is cozy and intimate, with a small stage for musicians at the front, a few TVs, several booths and tables, and a bar along the back wall. How’s the pricing? Pricing runs approximately $20–30 per person for dinner, making it an accessible night out that doesn’t require breaking the bank. Should I make a reservation? For feather bowling, absolutely yes. Feather bowling league play runs from September through April on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 7–10 PM, which means walk-in access to the lanes during those months can be especially limited. On busy weekend nights, the cafe is as busy as can be — walking in for dinner without a reservation on a Saturday evening could mean nearly being turned away at the door. Call ahead when you can.
Can I bring the whole family? While the venue is 21+ on weekends, all ages are welcome during the week.
